For a select number of films each year, Suncatcher executes a film’s distribution strategy including campaign management, a theatrical release, and serving as sales agent for ancillary distribution.

Suncatcher serves as a strategic consultant for a wide variety of films, delivering services that span from insightful film feedback, bespoke marketing and distribution playbooks, and a monthly consultation retainer.

*Services start at $500 for shorts and $1,500 for features.

  • We aid filmmakers to prioritize their goals, identify their audiences, position their project for success, and craft a comprehensive budget required for marketing and distribution.

  • We advise filmmakers on creative assets, exhibitor marketing tactics, eventizing showtimes, and impact & awards campaigns (if applicable) to create viewing urgency, generate buzz, and maximize attendance.

  • We counsel filmmakers on windowing and release date strategy, as well as festival, theatrical, and virtual/VOD distribution to amplify a film’s reach.

Execution

Distribution

For select films about women, people with disabilities and the environment, Suncatcher serves as an independent theatrical distributor.  Our distribution services consist of campaign management, theatrical booking, and acting as a sales agent.

*Typically a three to four month commitment.

  • We lead theatrical releases which includes audience engagement strategies, exploring community-based partnerships, and recommending specialists to join the team (publicists, social media consultants, etc.). We also help create a call-to-action to maximize the film’s impact and, if applicable, we also advise on award campaigns.

  • We specialize in theatrical distribution which includes selecting strategic markets and theaters, eventizing screenings, content delivery, exhibitor marketing, and box office collections. Bookings are confirmed via a favorable revenue share model (no 4-walls or rental fees) and our filmmakers retain all rights to their films. 

  • We can pitch your film to airlines, educational distributors, and home entertainment providers including Streamers, TVOD, and AVOD.
